# About

I'm Darryn Pasqua, a hybrid product manager and engineer at a flooring manufacturer. My work spans software development, manufacturing operations, R&D, process documentation, and sales and marketing tooling — anywhere the work needs improving.

The thread through all of it: I build fixes for people stuck doing things the hard way. Operations teams, plant managers, finance analysts. Sometimes that person is me. Process, hardware, or software — the problem picks and I figure out the rest with whatever's lying around.

What makes my work distinctive is the intersection: deep manufacturing domain knowledge, software development, AI/ML implementation, and business strategy in one head. I can translate between the plant floor and the codebase in both directions — turn a quality engineer's problem into a data pipeline, or explain to a developer why a metric that looks fine in SQL is lying about what's happening on the line. The project I'm proudest of started as a dashboard and became something three facilities run their daily operations on.

I work mostly in Python and Elixir. Manufacturing dashboards, OEE tracking, vision-based defect detection, data pipelines from legacy ERP systems into tools people actually use. My operating philosophy is kaizen with technical leverage: most friction is unnecessary, most manual processes should be automated, and most "business problems" are systems problems in disguise.
